I have a hunch 4chan deliberately malfunctions email verification when your existing token has expired in order to get you to buy a pass. This keeps happening when I need to renew my email verification once a week.
>>1485 (OP) AI janny theory would also point to a scam going on. Human jannys probably wouldn't want to play ball with shoving a paid subscription to 4chan users since they themselves are willing to work for free. I remember reading about Hiroyuki Nishimura pulling a similar scam on 2channel so maybe this is just History repeating itself.
uh oh stinky 4chan down again >>1487 honestly I hope this is the case, if everyone moved away from 4chan we could get some balkanization going and I think we would end up with multiple kino 4chan splinters (I will admit I am a bit biased since I think the /pol/ posters are really annoying)
>>1775 There's a lot of chatter on Kissu right now but I'd welcome you with open arms if you stuck around here a little anon. We've had tons of visitors but few have stuck around.
@void I recommend you check this out, maybe your input can help answer some questions there since you know more about web/website stuff. Like WTF is "angie" from the 403 message on 4chan?
BUT yeah man, look at all the recent AI spam from /g/. My impression is that AI companies are trying to change public opinion about their AIslop and 4chan is opening wide for pass money...
>>1776 I'm checking the kissu thread, very interesting discussion ,I have some theories for the current state of 4chan. Hiro probably doesn't give a fuck so none of the staff can get anything done, and some of the staff might even be actively sabotaging 4chan. I assume running a website like 4chan has gotten much more difficult in the AI era, we can see the weird bots posting, but who knows what happens behind the scenes, maybe that's why the website is so unstable.
>>1494 I think I started going on 4chan in 2010, and I'm sure that Captchas were already in place then. I remember noko and I remember not having (You)s, but I don't recall ever seeing Captchas and thinking, "Hey, these are new."
