Modern MMORPGs
AION 2 came out today and I started playing it this evening
I'm already level 22, went through like 6 different zones, 30 cutscenes, 5 gear sets, the combat feels spammy and with little depth
Maybe that's just the way modern MMORPGs are, they play like everything is dialed up to eleven. I've been playing Valheim as well and even though it's a single player game, it kinda has that feeling old MMORPGs have, you feel like an insignificant person inside a vast world, everything happens slowly, you need to respect your enemies and grind your way to success. Another sad part is that MMORPGs aren't really social anymore, I didn't talk to a single person, didn't form any party, I joined a dungeon but got grouped automatically with other people
I'm gonna continue playing for a while, but AION 2 feels much more forgettable than when I played AION 1 many years ago
