For me 4chan died when those "boypussy" perverts took over and spammed their filth without any consequence. At some point they were ever blackmailing dumbass anons into taking HRT
>>301 Man that was nasty. Like I don't mind a little trolling for teh lulz but at some point it's like taking a shit in front of a family at a picnic.
I've personally been growing weary of the blatant Apple troll/shill threads on /g/ that never get deleted. It ignites the most asinine flame wars that cause tech related threads to go to page 10. Like dam, as if the constant literally who? twitter screenshot threads weren't enough.
>>302 I think at some point we just get tired of seeing the same troll threads over and over. I wonder if there is even anything that could be done to prevent them without going too hard on moderation
>>303 It has to be 1 or a few autists at most (ie discord raids) but the problem is they go the extra mile and use residential proxies and shit. It's like those jeet scammers spoof calling you from seemingly trustworthy numbers.
Shadow banning normally works on registered users especially if they use throwaway emails every account creation (they they use once and abandon). On anonymous users, it's like trying to catch a ghost.
Maybe truly anonymous posting was a mistake.
Let's be honest, 4chan is fucking dire. I've been using it for years but it has gotten worse.
Back in the say 4chan was full of lighthearted memes like advice dog and Girugamesh. Yes there was some racism too but it didn't seem like massively serious racism.
These days those same memes would be called "Reddit" and instead 4chan is full of bitter incels who have become more angry and hateful regarding things that are actually normal. Hence the hatred of "normies".
What a dogshit website it is. I should really stop posting on there.
I wonder how botted the site is? it's a fact that it's almost impossible to post on it. IP range blocks affecting practically everyone, email verification system that is broken and doesn't work, and I know there aren't that many pass users. Is the entire site a scam to steal advertisers' money?
>>393 This new captcha system is relatively easy, but the previous one was pretty much impossible to solve. I have no idea how the site stayed afloat with it
@void you should seek alternative places if you want more users, 4chan meta thread censorship is getting worse which seems like an indirect admission that users are mass abandoning 4chan for realz now. Looking for them on other altchans might be worth a shot, I doubt twitter users are interested in WebP/AV1, they seem more braindead than the average /pol/ user tbh.
>>484 It's weird, it's like everything besides the top 5 most popular apps are dying down. I tried posting on reddit, twitter, 4chan, sometimes the website gets some views, but nothing too special. Marketing and getting attention is super hard nowadays. Google search is pretty much useless as well.
>>484 Maybe the solution is making a viral post somewhere, just posting for impressions doesn't seem to work very well. Like my last post on twitter got 1.2k impressions, the last one on reddit 3.5k, but that hardly translates to any new visitors. The best day for the website happened when I made a post that gained some traction on 4chan, it got like 100+ visits. But of course, making viral posts isn`t easy.
