Videogames Codex
Welcome to the Videogames Codex.
The Codex is a small set of reference pages for this board. Curators write them, everyone can read them, and anyone can reply in the discussion thread at the bottom of the page.
This page is a placeholder so the Codex has something to show on day one. A curator can replace all of it.
What belongs here
- A start here page for someone who just found the board
- Guides that answer the same question over and over
- Lists worth keeping current, like where to watch something or what is airing
Keep it short. The Codex is meant to stay a handful of pages rather than grow into a wiki.
How to write a page
Pages are written in markdown, the same syntax you already use in a post.
Bold, italic and strikethrough all work.
Headings
Use # for the big one, ## for the middle one and ### for the small one. There is nothing smaller than ###.
Lists
- A bullet list
- One item per line
- A numbered list
- Same idea
Quotes
A line that starts with a > becomes a real quote block. This is one place a Codex page differs from a post, where the same line turns green instead.
Spoilers
Wrap text in double pipes and it stays hidden until the reader clicks it: this is the spoiler
Links
Write a link as [text](address). A link that starts with a slash stays inside the site, so the board list opens here instead of in a new tab.
Code
Use backticks for a short piece of code, and a fenced block for anything longer:
A fenced block keeps its spacing exactly as typed.
Images
Write an image as . In the editor you can paste or drop a file straight into the page and it is uploaded when you save.
What does not work here
Three things from the posting guide are deliberately off on a Codex page:
