Firefox developer did a JXL vs AVIF comparison.

Jixel is definitely promising. In the past AVIF used to dominate below high quality, sometimes by up to 20-30% smaller file sizes so people kind of lost interest in JXL as an image format for the web, where things loading quickly on poor internet connections is more important.

I didn't mean to make it sound like that, I'm not asking for your home adrress so I can send you a pizza without your permission. Next time I'll just say "east coast" then, is that sufficiently not "datamining" enough for you?
Anyway today I felt like throwing up on my way home from work because of how hot it got today. I didn't anticipate bipolar weather so I didn't bring any gatorade with me. So instead of sweating I just got a mild fever.

For example kids growing up in the past would deliverately do stupid stuff like try to eat a head of lettuce for dinner, find out that it makes you sick, and never do it again. Now as AI becomes smarter it can inform them that doing something like this is bad for them. But is it okay to rob them from the life lesson?

>A September review of prices on the McDonald’s app found a company-operated restaurant in Fresno, California, selling a Big Mac for $5.69, while another company-run location about two miles away charged $6.89, a difference of roughly 21%.

Is the age of the free internet over?

>When the next iteration of human communication is discovered, say plugging our brains in directly to each other, we will go through exactly the same stages.
How do you suppose discoverability will work for this next iteration, besides using the internet, where the gawking rabble will just rush in at the same rate?

Is that it? No more personal computers?
Money isn't worth shit anymore and datacenters literally took all the hardware in the world, I need to work several months to afford a new computer
Life is so fucking shit in 2026, I hate it

If a schizoid maniac can make his own operating system and programming language from scratch, why can't you?

Hell no, AI is going to decrease future human intelligence like leaded gasoline if we let kids use it. IMHO this is far worse than simple repetitive entertainment used to keep them quiet.
>>2108
I'm not a parent so I don't know what is the "right" way to raise kids but being overprotective does seem to screw them up because instead of developing a healthy risk/reward evaluation they just become terrified of the outside world and never experience it.
Which ironically makes them sicker growing up not with normal diseases but instead autoimmune disorders as their body has so little experience with simple colds and reaction to harmless pollen that it goes apeshit and gives them asthma and whatnot.

I always did find the sudden price surges of non-computer stuff suspicious after the pandemic ended, the USD is becoming worthless but not that quickly.
Big Mac isn't even good anymore, last time I bought one the patties looked so thin, the sandwich is mostly white bread and stale lettuce.

NTA but I've never had a single issue in my 10 years of using X11. I tried using gayland for a few months for "security" but realized the whole thing is just a sack of shit. It was non-stop just fixing one thing then moving onto the next. I couldn't get half of the programs I rely on to work. Wayland is dogshit and I gave up on it later than I should have.
Also, as for the "security" benefits that gaylanders love to go on about, if not allowing programs to snoop on other program's displays is so important to you, then how about you just don't install fucking malware? If having malware on your system is so important to you then sure, I understand using gayland, but at that point just use an android with a keyboard attached. Lol

probably but i like to believe this will bring forth a new age of the cyber pirate hackermen. Think about it, once the government locks down most of the web and bans VPNs the only people who know how to still be anonymous online are us hacker men.

Not sure tbh, I think /g/ might be unsalvageable. I could spam umigalaxy links until the janny there bans me. So far he hasn't which is odd, maybe they hate the AI spam as much as I do???? But I'll stop because it makes umigalaxy seem desperate and that might be doing more harm than good.

Agreed
@void please move this thread to /meta when you get a chance

Hey anon, I've tried posting the website on 4chan and reddit(I know), but it's hard to find users who stick around.
>Only here to try to help with the AI board
If you make an account I can make you a VIP so you can edit the board's codex https://umigalaxy.com/explore/ai/1472/artificial-intelligence-codex

Does it count if I vibeslop it?

Knowing that an OS is a very time consuming project is stopping me from at least trying to implement one since I know I will move on to a different project really quickly. Though at the same time an OS can include many unrelated components which makes working on them feel like working on entierly different projects - I think SerenityOS is a great example of this, just look through the playlists on Andreas Kling's youtube channel. I Have an unfinished implementation of a 16-bit forth system sitting around, perhaps I should grow that into an OS of some sort.
