I love the squeaky gate call from Blue Jays, so much energy goes into this one call, they often bob up and down as if they're excited or furious when they make it.

Depends how you define "HQ" and most people can't seem to universally agree on this because of visual acuity, display being used, viewing conditions, viewing distance, etc etc. "LQ" or dogshit quality is easy, you just set a JPG or WebP image with a quality parameter of 0 and ~100% of humans would agree that it's awful. WebP is a very interesting image codec because it can, without intermediate formats, use:
A) YCbCr pixel format with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. This is the one image photographers get upset about because raw camera images can be 4:2:2 or even 4:4:4 JPGs (set to 100 quality).
B) RGB (+ alpha). This is the exact same thing being used in PNG.
You rarely hear about B until now because there used to be a serious security vulnerability so it was effective banned on the internet. It's been a few years since all the security patches got sent all over the world so it's pretty safe to use. This is also why things like JXL won't see widespread adoption until like 2030, there could be dangerous hidden security vulnerabilities especially since it's 10X as complex/more lines of code vs WebP.
Anyway umigalaxy seems to be one of the first websites that allows the usual boring YCbCr pixel format with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling but also the historically banned RGB (+ alpha) color space in Webp uploads. If the former isn't "HQ" enough for you then you can use the latter.

are you excited? personally i found season 1 worse than new blood.

Probably not grim/dark enough for me tbh. I tend to enjoy more fantasy drama shows like Game of Thrones and Shogun.
Still, Peter Dinklage is in the show and the concept of serial killers being paid to kill people does intrigue me somewhat so I'll bookmark it.

How long until prices go down?

What do you think think of Star Citizen?
I know a lot of people would call it a scam, but I've never felt such a massive sense of scale in any other game

No widespread quick travel sucks if you have a job IRL tbh. The idea of becoming a space pirate is cool though.

>Muscular atrophy from never moving around more than a few meters at a time
checks out
I dread the future when we'll be able to use computers with a VR headset. It'll be fun as fuck but we'll live lives 80% close to coma patients.

Cringy exaggeration doesn't do it any favors either but temporal/scene background stability is getting better, less stuff in the background warping into other stuff or people phasing into existence. The clothes being thrown shows a lot of warping/hallucination though, I guess clothes in high speed motion isn't easy to simulate yet.
Can this even be done locally/quickly yet on anything less than an RTX 5090s yet though?

IN FACT, if you want a real oxymoron wait until you find out that some freak images achieve dramatically smaller filesize as a a lossless RGB WebP instead of the lossy one. You'd think not applying lossy transforms to a image would make the filesize explode but some images out there are freaks of nature.

S1 got a little too comic-booky for my taste at times with the sekrit club, and I'm not a fan of Krysten Ritter, but they did a better job than I expected. Looking forward to next season.

Honestly as someone who really loved the OG series, it was very disappointing. Even Michael C Hall, who I'm a big fan of didn't deliver his best performance Jack Alcott can't act. Prater didn't work as a villain, he never came off as intimidating, and the whole secret club jus felt a little too outlandish. Batista's death was also a complete waste and made me feel nothing. Dexter cut everyone off to live in the woods because he kept hurting everyone around him, only to go back to who he was, kill his old best friend and feel nothing? His internal monologue used to have substance but they just felt like they were added here just to tick a check box, and don't get me started on the references to old season, the flashbacks were fine, but for the show constantly do it got old really fast. The autistic detective was also a complete joke. I could go on and on...

There are some cracks forming on all this AI shit but it's hard to say if they'll amount to much in the next few years. As far as I can understand everyone is still high on FOMO gas despite the Leopold scandal.

Im starting to get blackpilled on the whole topic. yes there are cracks in the ai bubble or whatever, but they have always been there. yet it keeps getting worse. and despite all the slop, ai also offers incredible things.
too bad i didnt prioritize ram or a good motherboard back in 2021 when i bought my current pc. its perfectly fine for gaming and all, but i doubt i will be able to buy a new one for the same money anytime soon, or maybe ever again.

Isn't that the point though?
If you quick travel you'll lose the sense of scale

Yeah but when you come tired from work all day the last thing you want is a DMV simulator. TBH the thought of saving money to NEET out for a while to properly enjoy games again lingers in the back of my head all the time but the thought of having to eat cup noodles for breakfast/lunch/dinner again terrifies me too much.
Like, let's fucking go, I want to go on a space pirating rampage and go out in a blaze of glory trying to defeat an armada government troops... but I need my 8 hours to I can go back to work.
